Standard Dimensions Of A Snooker Table

Snooker is a type of billiards. Billiards, also known as table tennis or pinball, is a ball sport in which players, following certain rules, strike the cue ball to hit object balls and pocket them.

A snooker table has a rectangular tabletop.

The standard dimensions of this rectangle are 385cm × 206cm (length 385 cm, width 206 cm). The standard dimensions of the inner edge are 3569mm × 1778mm (length 3569 mm, width 1778 mm). The allowable tolerance for error in the dimensions of a snooker table is 13mm.

The height of a snooker table is generally between 851 and 876mm, or approximately 85-87cm.

There are six pockets on a snooker table: one at each of the four ends (top and bottom pockets) and one in the middle of each of the two long sides (center pockets). The width of each pocket opening is 85mm.

In addition to the six pockets, the snooker table has a break area and several ball placement spots.

There are seven placement spots for the colored balls, each corresponding to a specific colored ball. If a colored ball is potted and needs to be removed and replaced, it is first placed on its designated spot. If the designated spot is already occupied, it is placed on a nearby colored ball placement spot.

For example, if the black ball is potted and needs to be removed, it should be returned to its black ball placement spot. If the black ball placement spot is already occupied by a red ball or another colored ball, it is placed on the nearest spot, i.e., the pink ball placement spot.

The break area is a semicircle with a radius of 292mm centered on the brown ball placement spot. As the name suggests, the break area is where the cue ball is placed for the initial break and subsequent breaks during the game.
