How To Choose Bluestone Slabs: 3 Key Steps To Create Your Customized Flooring

Material Selection: First, check the stone quality.
Bluestone slabs come in natural and artificial antique finishes.
Natural bluestone slabs have a natural texture but uneven thickness, suitable for outdoor use.
Antique-finished bluestone slabs are polished for a smoother surface and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Pay attention to the stone's density; higher density slabs are less prone to staining and more wear-resistant.
Ask the seller for samples, focusing on whether the texture is natural and free of cracks.

Size: Determine the size according to the scene.
60×30cm or 80×40cm slabs are suitable for courtyard paths. Leave a 2-3mm gap during installation for drainage and future maintenance. Replacement:
Indoor tea room options include 30×30cm smaller slabs, with different splicing methods.
Wall decorative stone slabs require pre-measurement of the area and calculation of cutting quantities.
It is recommended to keep 10% spare slabs to avoid waste during installation.

Craftsmanship: Anti-slip and flatness are key.
Outdoor bluestone slabs must be treated with anti-slip material, otherwise they are easy to slip on in rainy weather.
Choose from lychee surface (rough surface) or flamed surface (granular texture).
When customizing, specify the flatness requirements; the error should not exceed 2mm.
It is recommended to leave expansion joints at the joints to avoid cracking caused by thermal expansion and contraction. Hire an experienced craftsman for on-site installation for more precise splicing.
